Arrowleaf Balsamroot is probably the most prevalent wildflower growing in the Columbia Gorge. In spring the hills are filled with these bright yellow blossoms. Dog Mountain, Tom McCall Nature Preserve, Memaloose Hills, Mill Creek Preserve: all are chock full of them. And the Arrowleaf Balsamroot can be found all over the western states. Usually found in large clumps of flowers and leaves, they are joy to see at the peak of the bloom.
