MYou have to look really closely at the Bugloss Fiddleneck to determine if it is indeed a Bugloss Fiddleneck or a Menzies’ Fiddleneck. The Bugloss has bulges and hairs in the throat of the flower and the Menzies’ does not. Without getting a close up view, you can’t tell them apart. Both are vivid yellow with red markings on the throat. Both are hairy and the flower heads curl as they age.
