The bulbiferous or bulbous prairie star is quite similar to the woodland prairie star. The main differences are that the bulbiferous prairie star usually has pink flowers, sometimes leaning to white; it has longer petals that are deeply divided; and the calyx is more rounded. All the prairie stars grow in grassy areas like meadows and open fields throughout the west.
