I have a fondness for tiny wildflowers; these are not showy like the larger wildflowers, and they are more difficult to locate. Sometimes they are in the brush and hidden by the leaves of other plants. The Common Chickweed is one such tiny wildflower. Often grows in oak woodlands, the leaves are hairy and often shiny. The flowers have five petals, each of which is deeply lobes making it seem as if there are ten petals. There can be up to ten stamens in each flower.
