Growing in disturbed areas, the bright yellow flowers of Common St John’s Wort are easy to spot. Each of the five petals has tiny black dots on them, though these are often difficult to see. There are many yellow stamens that are longer than the petals. And there are usually multiple flowers on each stalk.
