Creamy Buckwheat is very similar to Heartleaf Buckwheat. The biggest difference is in the leaves: Creamy Buckwheat leaves are ovoid and longer than the Heartleaf Buckwheat. Both have light hairs on the underside of the leaves and the inflorescences are also similar looking, though Creamy Buckwheat flower heads begin lower on the stalk.
