Ookow has a very close relative, Blue Dicks, both are considered cluster lilies and stand tall in dry rocky soil. The main difference between the two is that Blue Dicks has six stamens and the Ookow only has three. These are hard to distinguish without looking really closely inside the flower. The Ookow has filament sheaths around the stamens. Three of these and three stamens.
