Scarlet Gilia is usually a vivid red wildflower that grows in a variety of habitats, from desert canyons to rocky fields just below timberline. There is a white phase and a pinkish phase that I was lucky enough to capture in Zumwalt Prairie. These can grow a little over a foot tall.
