The Tolmie’s Mariposa Lily is very similar to the Sub-alpine Mariposa Lily, but grows typically at lower elevations and has purple hairs at the base of the petals. Like the Sub-alpine Mariposa Lily, it has three densely haired petals. This is sometimes called Tolmie’s Cat’s Ears, Tolmie’s Star Tulip or Pussy Ears.
