One of my all time favorite wildflowers, the White Mariposa Lily grows east of the Cascades. This beautiful flower has many local names; Big Pod Mariposa Lily and Wing-fruited Mariposa Lily are a couple of the more commonly used. The white petals have a red to purple blotch on each petal. The detail at the core of the flower is quite intricate.
