A true rarity in the Northwest. Actually even more than a rarity, the white rock larkspur is known to only grow in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. I had hiked in the Camassia Preserve (a Nature Conservancy property) many times looking for this truly endangered wildflower, with no luck. But this year, my timing was just right and I found a little meadow with these growing there. Almost all the other larkspurs are blue; but there are a couple of red varieties I have not seen, a yellow one and possibly one other white species.
