Prairie Stars. There are three types of prairie stars here in the Pacific Northwest. They are all very similar in looks and sometimes it is difficult to determine which is which. The Woodland Prairie Star, Lithophragma parviflorum typically has three lobes to each flower petal; is more usually white than pink; and has a tapered calyx, at the lower end of the flower. The Lithophragma tenellum is very similar, but has a more rounded calyx.
