This wildflower grows on the west side of the Cascade Mountains, and south of the Columbia River Gorge. The petals are the distinctive part of the Yellowleaf Iris. Each flower has six petals, with three being called “standards”, which are often upright, and the “falls”, which usually have the coloring and more distinct veins.
