A member of the Aster family, Pearly Everlasting blooms about mid-summer with distinctive flowers that look like they are already dried. But these are new buds and flowers. The flowers are in a large inflorescence at the top of the stems. Plants can grow to a foot or more in height. The bracts of the flowers are white with yellow centers. Leaves alternate going up the stem and are slightly hairy on the underside. These grow in dry areas.
